U14 Hockey Tour to Glasgow

A group of 16 players accompanied Miss Du Toit and Miss Stewart to Glasgow on a short hockey playing tour. They played two matches and had a training session with a Scottish National player in the Commonwealth Hockey Stadium.

Apart from the matches, the players had some leisure time which was spend bowling, playing miniature golf and shopping.

On the Saturday, the team played against Dollar Academy and even tough it was a very close match, narrowly lost 2-1 in the final seconds. The school hosted us for lunch and the players had the opportunity to share experiences.

On the Sunday we were hosted by a club and played their junior team. We won the match 5-3. There was great support from the local parents and the players had the opportunity to socialise after the match.

The coaching session on the Monday was very valuable to the girls. They had the privilege to play in the Commonwealth Games Stadium and had a Q & A session with the national player after the skill session.

I would like to thank the staff, the parents and the players for contributing to the success of the tour.
